The Lendo team is based in Tøyen Startup Village in downtown Oslo, together with other Schibsted companies.

About the role

We are looking for our next legal star to join our operations in Norway to support our business in our nordic markets Norway, Sweden and Denmark. You will solve complex legal problems involving multiple jurisdictions, consumers, partners, and financial regulation. Your challenge is to merge stakeholders’ expectations and legal requirements into simple and innovative legal products, processes, or contracts.

You will report to the Head of Legal and Compliance in Stockholm and be part of the joint group function for Legal, Compliance and Privacy. In close cooperation with the rest of the team, your colleagues in the local leadership teams, product and tech you will play an important role in the future success of Lendo!

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the Group Management Team, the local Country Managers and leadership teams as the legal expert in legal, privacy and regulatory matters.
  • Be the main point of contact towards the Norwegian supervisory authorities.
  • Develop the compliance function in Lendo Group and report on ongoing risks, revise, policies and conduct controls.
  • Stay on top of relevant regulations and legal updates affecting Lendo and its customers and advise Lendo’s departments on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Act as a senior member of the Legal team and build efficient and scalable processes and collaborate closely with the rest of the business.

Who are you?

  • A Nordic law degree and at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in a well regarded law firm or in-house experience. Experience with working with financial regulation and privacy is desired.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, scaling environment alongside colleagues in the Nordics.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements in financial regulation, GDPR and consumer facing operations in Norway.
  • You speak and write Norwegian and English fluently.
  • Proactive, organized with problem-solving skills.
  • You’re excellent at communication and a translator of complex legal jargon into simple solutions for the business to implement.
  • Bring a positive, can-do attitude to the workplace and be curious to learn and support as many business areas as possible.
